Western Victoria Transmission Network Project

Project Overview

The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) has appointed Ausnet Services to construct and operate a 190km high-voltage transmission line from Sydenham to Bulgana.

Please note that this is not a Council led project. Feedback should be directed to AusNet.

Upcoming Community Sessions

Moorabool Shire Council is hosting a series of online community sessions in relation to the Western Victoria Transmission Network Project.

Residents will have the opportunity to hear from independent experts addressing a variety of topics and are encouraged to submit questions prior to each session via the online form below. There will also be some limited opportunity for live Q&A with the presenters during the session. 

  • Community Session 3: Energy Safe Victoria Part 2 - Farming and High Voltage Transmission Lines
    In this second community session with Energy Safe Victoria, we will focus on the rules and restrictions related to agricultural practices near transmission lines including:
    - Easement management – rules and size
    - Agricultural practices under easements – limits and concerns
    - Building under powerlines – restrictions and risks
