Moorabool Community Road Safety Strategy

Project Overview

Moorabool Shire Council plays an important role in providing a safe travel environment for residents and visitors. A key part of this role includes the implementation of activities directed at reducing the likelihood and severity of road accidents and influencing driver behaviour by working in partnership with key road safety bodies and community groups.

In support of this, Council has recently commenced the process of developing a Community Road Safety Strategy. This project will produce a four-year action plan in line with Safe System principles (safe roads, safe speeds, safe people and safe vehicles) to assist in promoting safe travel with the aim of reducing serious injuries and fatalities within the municipality and provide a structure approach to guide Council in delivering projects and initiatives that meet the needs of the growing community.

Community input is a vital component of the project and residents and visitors are strongly encouraged to provide feedback via the online survey before Wednesday 30 October 2019 to help identify road safety issues within the shire. The survey only takes a few minutes to complete and no personal information will be recorded or retained.

During this time, an assessment of technical data and further targeted consultation is occurring, and following completion of the survey a number of community sessions will be held to present the data and provide a further opportunity to have input into suggested treatments and/or improvement actions.

For further information, please contact Council on 5366 7100.

The survey is now closed. Thanks for participating.
